British Gas has launched a new Price Protection offering (Price Protection 2009), which guarantees the price of gas and electricity until February 28th, 2009. The offer is slightly more expensive than British Gas' Standard tariff. The tariff is made available on a first come first served basis, and the offer will be withdrawn from the market as soon as the company has met its target number of new customers.

The tariff is available from this service for signup as of today, for both new and current British Gas customers.
