Scottish and Southern Energy, which provides gas and electricity under the Southern, Scottish Hydro, Swalec and Atlantic brands is to offer its customers modest cuts in the price of gas and electricity, but only after the end of winter.

Electricity bills will be reduced by 9%, while gas customers will see reductions of 5%. Cuts will become effective on April 1st 2009.
